Well I was reading online and it's suggested to put the maroon in a specimen container and when my maroon tries to attack and calms down then release it. if it doesn't work out then I'm supposed to get a different maroon but should try at least 3 times. Got the info from an article I read

I would NOT recomend getting a smaller maroon. If you get a large sized maroon your small should submit very quickly. I have paired them many times like this with no problems at all. If you get them around the same size (being small and tiny) they will fight and either kill each other, or tear each other up badly. Also, do you realize how large a full grown maroon get's? I personally wouldn't recomend them for your 29 gal. If you plan on doing coral's they're probably going to knock everything around and kick sand everywhere. Mine are crazy and will actually pick up coral and throw it if they decide they don't like where it is.

yeah I know how big they get; at my LFS i saw a piar and the female was HUGE!!!!! made the male look so inferior lol. but I'm gonna get the pair temporarily, maybe keep them for a year if I don't f*** up and if they grow to big then I'll sell them to my LFS or send sell it to someone maybe. Thanks for the advice! btw can a regular maroon pair up with a yellow banded maroon? then again I heard they were even more aggressive.....

I like the yasha goby/pistol shrimp pair. They have a similar relationship as with most shrimp/goby pairs, but I really like the uniqueness of the yasha goby.

I don't know if I would personally put more than 1 maroon in a 29g.

Well I see yellow watchman goby won the vote; it is a very pretty fish btw. I'm currently offering to trade my maroon for an ocellaris if anyone wants to, but other then that here's what I've got planned for livestock: YWG/pistol shrimp pair, ocellaris clown (possibly pair), firefish, and mandarin (working on growing some pods). They can be compatible, right? seem to be friendly fish but I'm worried if the pistol bothers any other fish...
