I saw a old forum here from way back in 03-03-2009.
    http://www.3reef.com/forums/general-reef-topics/kudos-petmountain-com-60311.html

I am not sure what happened between then and now but that is sure not my experience.
I purchased 2 exo terra small waterfalls and they are junk by design and could actually hurt your pet, but beyond that.

I have found that, if you dont agree with every thing they tell you at petmountain that they are vary quick to terminate the conversation, weather that be hanging up the phone on you or quitting live chat.

They say in their web site that you only pay for return shipping if you change your mind or have buyers remorse.
not if your product is defective or is damaged in transit, but the experiences that those in that forum posted sure are not even closer to mine.
THey gave me a hard time over the water falls, and refused to make any decision, until I talked to exo terra to find out if their operation that I have observed would be considered defective or not.
now that I have talked to exo terra and they swear that my 2 units must both be defective, since they would not sell a product like I received.
But all petmountain wants to do is have me ship it back, at my expense of course and then possibly give me a full refund or possibly a refund minus 10% restocking fee.

I did read a rip off report on them, that sounded much more like my expiration has gone so far.
more over I decided to check them out and even though it is not illegal, all of their whois and iccan web domain information hosted on godaddy is private, but is not listed as private, the information is simply missing.
I have not called godaddy yet but will call just to make sure their is not a error.

you see when ever some one your doing business with goes to conceal their true identity, you have to know a red flag is being raised, and their is a chance that they may be operating in such a manor as may not be considered legal in many states.
since it is usually criminals that that concerned with concealing their identity.

So after what I read in that rip off report, and what has transpired so far.
I am going to check with godaddy to make sure their is no mistake and they are indeed operating in " hide and go seek " mode.
and if so It will be time for me to file a complaint with mastercard, you see under the terms of service agreement and consumer protection, I can and will file a complaint that will take back and then jam up the funds for that transaction, then master card will decide how much money I get back, not petmountain and that will be 100% plus shipping if they do not pay for return shipping.

I just wish I could of told that poor women that from that rip off report, so she would not of gotten ripped off.
remember the name of the logo on your credit card actually protects many consumers, so don't let company's push you around and try to get tough telling you how much they think you should get back.
since most of them that do that are more then willing to lie, cheat and steal to get what they want and do not care about you their customer.

many company's will use tough talk to try to scare you away from filling a complaint with your credit card company and many more will call you with tough talk after filling a complaint to try to scare you into dropping it.

But I am telling you, don't let them do it. stick by your guns and if they say they will see you in court, and if you know you are probability right and are not being unreasonable.
then simply tell them " I'll see you their" and do not drop your complaint.

if your one of the customers that have a really bad bank with lazy people that do not like to do their jobs and they refuse to open a investigation, contact visa and master card directly. and look for a new bank to deal with.

i have never bought from pet mountian, i found a light i wanted on their site very cheap but when i read others having problems with them, i felt i couldnt take the chance ordering from them, i went to marine depot and used their price match policy for the same light, and had the peace of mind of ordering from a company who i have dealt with many times and been happy with.

thank you for your post mr.frog, its people who speak up that save others from making the mistake of dealing with these companys with bad customer service.
