    An event like yours would leave me totally traumatized. I can't imagine it and don't want to.


    My tank is my passion, and leaving it for even a day makes me nervous. More then a couple days and I am frantic to return.

    It only takes a few hours away and the imagination starts to run rampant - power outages, break-in, pump failure, hose break, stray bullet from outside :p

    Having insurance helps, but I fully understand that such a loss goes far beyond loss in $ value.

    Losing something that you have nurtured, invested hundreds of hours of loving care for and spent good lord knows how much family resources just to make sure you are giving those creatures under your care the best possible environment is terrible. Especially when the point failure is due to something you went out of the way to protect them from.

    I would seriously consider getting a lawyer and sueing the company you got the float valve from but also the company that made it. Not just for monetary loss, but a large amount besides for pain and suffering.

    Crap, I just don't want to think any more about it.
