I was online last night and my computer went awal! Got some kind of blue screen. Then a bunch of pop-up's. I get this random message about my hard drive, then a pop-up starts this system scan. Def. a virus. Anything I can do? Got to go before my computer randomly shuts down again!

Remove the drive & conntect it to another computer as a slave. Make sure the 2nd computer is up to date with it's antivirus software.. For free I recommend Panda Cloud Antivirus.. For Malware and such, I recommend Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Malwarebytes : Free anti-malware, anti-virus and spyware removal download they offer a free version that works very well..

Worst case, backup you data after a disinfection is done & backup your data and do a system reload. All data will be lost..

If I'm speaking Greek to you, call an IT specialist. ;)

You can't really fully disinfect in Safe Mode, especially if it's the trojan they got nailed with. The only cure in Safe Mode is to do a System Restore to an earlier date. Providing, that the virus is not in that restore backup as well..

I bet you have a lot more infection than what you think. Also for all you CRAZED couponers, STOP GOING TO RANDOM WEBSITES!!! You are loading more viruses, spyware, malware, & hijackers than you can count. My bosses wife crashed one of our POS systems because of this..

In the long run, you are still going to spend the money..

Oh yes you have to be so careful where you go.

On my last virus go around I was able boot into safe mode to try to run, malware, spybot and other scans while not antivirus I was able to look for malware.

Running avast probably helps me the most and a backup disk. Easy to do and well worth it. Also updating all antivirus software regularly. Now watch I will crash, dang it.........::)

The blue screen of death makes me very nervous.

There is one thing that was left out that I feel should be added. Turn off your wireless card or unplug your cat5 cable.
