    Hello,

I bought my condylactis about 4 days ago and its doing great ! its eating everytime and i havent seen it closed not once. But recently, like the past two days ago ive seen its been moving to the bottom of the rock I have it on. Ive tried flipping the rock over and it does it again..

What can it be?? im not sure if its sick but im thinking if it was it wouldve been closed, but its wide open. Im also guessing its just exploring around [IMG]

The first picture is the night i got it.
The second last night. Then in the morning i flipped back up again cause i woke up to it being upside down and the last one is the anemone right now. [IMG]

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
An anemone will move in reaction to lighting and flow. It may need to acclimate to your lighting system.

It really does no good to attempt to move them (unless next to powerhead, heater or overflow), they will go where the conditions meet their current needs. Moving them can be more detrimental then beneficial.

With most current lighting systems you should not need to feed an anemone daily. Weekly to bi-monthly should be sufficient with adequate lighting. More is not better with anemones.

    Welcome BTW :)

Thank you ! ;D this helped greatly! actually hes moving back up on the rock by himself as i type :) Guess he didnt like it down there.

And today i got two new percula clowns and hopefully they'll host sometime soon.
Another question.. Does th clownfish pick which anemone it wants to host or does the anemone pick the clown?

I have a condylactis anemone (the one in the picture) and a torch coral (slightly smaller) :cheesy:

    Thanks again :)

In nature, Condys do not host fish, although in aquaria, they have been known to host Domino Damsels and Maroon Clowns. Can't say I've ever seen a Perc or Ocellaris in one.

FYI, the clown is hosted by the anemones, not the other way around. . There is a chance the Percula clowns are never hosted by the Condylactis.

I believe the clown chooses what it is hosted by and they can be very picky. Percula clowns are most associated with Sebae , Ritteri and Giant Carpet anemones.

Good luck and I hope your clown is hosted.
