I recently purchased a Condylactis Anemone from my LFS and I don't know if it is healthy or not. I got it a few days ago. On the first day I put him in and he didn't seem to have too much of a problem. The next morning he is all shriveled up and upside down. A few hours later he flipped over, looked fairly healthy, and rode the current to the other side of the tank. Then again this morning he looked shriveled up and flipped over for a few hours. Then he finally went back to normal but hasn't moved at all. He is in a bit of a dead area for current and is laying sideways. Is it normal for him to not attach to anything at all? Also his mouth has been open but not all of the time just sometimes.
The tank was bought from a previous owner with poor filtration and high nitrates. I have had it for about 4 months now and I didn't know of the water parameters until recently. The fish have shown no signs of any problems and I added a protein skimmer in a sump about a week and a half ago.

Idk exactly. I am using test strips and everything except nitrates is exactly where it says it should be. It claims my nitrates are around 150 ppm but I find that very hard to believe considering everything else in my tank is very healthy.:)

You said in your other thread that the LFS tested your water and the nitrates were also high there. Have you done any water changes to bring them down per my suggestion? My first guess is that the nem is stressed from the nitrate level, and if that's the case, it won't last long if you don't get the problem corrected.

Without params you won't get very accurate answers, just guesses. The fact you have had this tank for 4 months and don't chemical test is kind of saddens me.

Yes, Mr. Bill I have done a very large water change since. When I got it tested at the LFS they told me they were high but not how high.
Wasitgreen, I do chemical test. Like I said I use test strips. Considering people say they aren't very accurate I will probably switch to another method. At the LFS he said that my parameters were great as well, except for the nitrates.

test stripes are very innacurate (as said before) and i think what they were talking about is the liquid tests kits

    Excellent choice. :)

My apologies if I seemed condescending, but my only concern is for the health of the condy which is obviously stressed about something. They don't normally release themselves and drift into a corner and lay there. I will say it still has good color, and considering that and the fact that it's tentacles are fully inflated, whatever the problem is can be corrected in time to save it.

EDIT: Just noticed that you added another pic to your original post- that doesn't look too good. :(
