I have an old man in my area that can't seem to keep Condys alive. He has gone through 5 so far. He uses a API master kit for testing. Says all levels are normal. Has several corals, assorted fish, crabs, snails...... you get the idea. Running MH lighting.

Need ideas. What could cause a Condy to die that wouldn't affect anything else?

Says they generally die quickly. Couple months or less.

Trust me, I would fess up if it is me. I sat talking with my LFS for almost an hour today trying to figure it out. It's got us both stumped.

Some times it just is not meant to be. Is it the only anemone he has tried to keep? But just so you know as many others know about me I do not agree on nems in captivity. But I am not saying right or wrong but I wouldn't go through more until he finds out the problem.

Hi, I tried two of them and same result as the guy you are talking about. A couple of months or less for mine also. I did read an article that stated they were an Atlantic ocean anemone and live in cooler water than what we keep our tanks normally. If I remember, they like softer (less intense) light and 72-76 degree temps.

Reefer like me stay away from anemones.. The fear of a stinging war between my corals and an anemone gives me goosebumps..
