If I use Kalk in my top off, can I use vinegar to help dissolve it? Also, I seem to find conflicting info on if that Vinegar is still active as a carbon source or not.

I wouldn't but I don't have a kalk reactor - I don't think that's the correct term - is it considered a kalk doser maybe? Kalk seems to dissolve pretty easily....

    Thanks for the info,

I am currently using C-Balance and am very well maintained on 50ml of the Cal and 25 of the buffer. If I switch to Kalk can I maintain this?

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Too many variables to make a prediction on what will maintain the desired value.

Size of tank, types and number of corals, utilization of those corals and or clams, coralline algae....

    What are your target numbers?

When I used kalk, I mixed it in a desired volumn of water and let it settle over night/24 hours. I then used the clear solution while trying to to mix up the particulate.

im dosing randys diy 3part formula, and im really happy with it... even i was planning on kalk, but was too late, as i had too many corals to risk.. the ready 2parts are great for nanos, but not for big systems..... ill plan on going for kalk on new system.....
