I have read several places that Tangs are very susseptible to ich, however, my two tangs are the only ones in my tank that DONT have it! I have done every trick I know to get rid of this ich..(UV sterilization, dipping, cleaning tank, Paragaurd, raising temp etc...) My flame angel and damsel are covered! My tangs are perfect. What gives? Are tangs the stronger fish?

Are you sure it's ich and not Brookynella or Amyloodium.

There are a lot of variables to account for what your are seeing. One of them is that the parasite has fallen off the tangs and you just can not longer see it, in a couple weeks if the current stress causing the outbreak is still present, you will again see white spots on the fish.

55g tank with multiple Tangs. So, the stress will most likely still be present if they are still alive.

Hit the nail on the head.

And dipping your fish will do no good if you are returning them to the display tank.

I believe you are missing some vital facts about the life cycle of marine ich and proven treatments.

Marine Ich - Myths and Facts

Please do right by the fish and get a bigger tank and in the future allow your tanks to complete the cycle prior to stocking so heavy. Regardless of what you used to seed the tank, that many fish in a 2 month old tank is just asking for disease issues.

    We are here to help.

yes, ich is present on many fish but when a fish is stressed is when it is very pronounced and fatal to the fish. i would suggest ditching all your tangs. really a 55 gallon tank should not have a tang in it. especially with a dwarf angel.
