This is my 3 months old sump. I made it myself. To set baffles I used aquarium silicon I bought at pet store. Why it started get algae or somethink yellow? It bothers me , I know it is in the sump but still... In my 125 silicon looks nice. And strange think look at the silicon on the fuge side on second picture< left side> it is nice and clean. Why???? Flow in the sump is really slow, is that diffrence? I'm sure not.. Can somebody explain this to me, please. Thanks.

The low flow in the sump could definityly be part of it..Although it looks like a common natural algae..I dont think its a major problem, but if you dont like it..Then you can just get in there and scrub it off.

Mine also has a yellowish tint to it, I would not worry about it. If that's the worst thing that happens to your tank (or sump), then you've done a great job! Now go and enjoy!;)

First I thought that too. But flow in my fuge is around 25% of the flow in rest of the sump, and silicon is clean on fuge side.

Yes you right, my tank is doing great. I should enjoy it more not looking for problems, but I was just curious...
