i think mine has got to be something from my tank as well.

glad to hear yours went away within an hour, must have not been that bad of a case with the exception of it being extremly painful and inflamed. I wish mine would have been that fast. But since i have a "severe" cause i dont think i will be as lucky as you, especially if i will need to be given steroids if it gets worse than it is now

conjunctivitis is the swelling of the conjunctiva, aka the white of the eye. pink eye causes the conjunctivitis via a viral infection which has been transmitted.

Puffer chick be sure to applicate to both eyes. pink eye normally affects both eyes. make sure everything you touch get sanitised to prevent other family or even pets from contracting this. ie. keyboards/door handles etc.

i work in eyecare and have dealt with this fairly often. your doc did the right thing with antibiotics and i doubt that steroidal drops would be necessary.

my suggestion for when after the pink eye goes away is to wash your eyelids all around and underneath with a warm towel or try looking for a product called Lid-Care. the reason i say this is because of the excess tears and nutrients in the eye from pinkeye could cause a build up of protiens which in turn can cause further complications.

 

think your right about it spreading, he had said my right eye was a little bit swollen too, which i didnt notice that one but as soon as he looked at my face he was like wow thats really bad

and will do with making sure everything gets sainitised, and same with washing my eye out, lol thats what i was doing when it first happend thinking it was like a cat hair or eyelash because that method usually works but it would not get out i was so frustrated lol turns out not cat hair and i have a bad case of pink eye

 

Yea that crap does suck. If it makes you feel any better I've had "flash burn" before from a welding accident. Its like a severe sunburn on your eyeball and it kills. I ended up temporarily blinded in the ER and had to get shots in both of my eyes.

 

Unpleasant as this side note is, we all like Puffer Chick, so here's some advice. Broad spectrum antibiotics will kill all bacteria; including the beneficial ones in our gut. This translates to a temporary aquired affinity towards constipation. The moment you begin to take these pills, your personal army of digesters are off on leave.

If you eat more high fiber foods more during this time, you'll be less apt to have such issues.

i called into work sick, i told them about the whole pink eye thing, and they totally understood so looks like i have two days off this week! yay!

 

C'mon. Everybody KNOWS that pink eye is caused by accidentally substituting embalming fluid with Worcestershire sauce!!! Have you started to develop a craving for brains yet?! If you have, I suggest that you contact the Worcestershire sauce hotline ASAP.

PS. It's a South Park reference people....hopefully, I'm not the only one who knows what I'm talking about
