so i'm wanting to get corals really soon, i plan to start off with zoas and polyps. But currently batteling GHA and a small amount of bubble algae, but at the same time i'm getting a crazy amount of coralline growth.

Do you think this is considered a small amount of algae or a lot? it's only on half of my rocks and has stopped spreading and has stopped growing once it's eatin away from the CUC. If you think this is an ok condition for zoas and polyps i would love to be able get my first zoas next weekend.

pics will be up in a second

It's not alot now, but, won't take long before it gets out of hand. Depending mostly on husbandry.........

it's stopped spreading, it was worse before this, had it all over the glass, a bit more on the rocks but now this is all i have and CUC has been eating away at it, and the places where they've eaten GHA hasn't come back, so i think it's done spreading

well that is a very very small amount but please take care of the problem now before it gets out of hand....one of my friends let it take over his whole tank and now he is trying to battle his way back into it

I just went through a nasty bout that was due, mostly, to laziness. I put some turbos in there and it's almost gone. I'm having a tough time getting used to my tank.

It sounds like you are almost done with the GHA. I'd say it is a small amount and that you could get corals any time. Keep in mind that coral doesnt like being crowded by GHA so anything you get should be placed on a rock without any GHA on it.

yea the turbos have done great, ive' had GHA for about 3 weeks now so i'm thinking the GHA faze is about done once the current GHA is gone.

Think this current amount is ok for corals even though it's not ideal

yea thankfully my CUC has been doing all the work, they've been awesome and really working at it, i don't think it will get much worse than this

yeaa i have a few rocks that haven't been touched with GHA but have a very small amount of bubble algae growing on them which hopefully my emerald crab will take care of it very soon. But with the rocks that don't have gha their mainly at the top and i plan on saving them for lps and sps down the line

bubble algae isnt that hard to manually remove. I just use a half inch clear tube, start a syphon and use the edge of the tube to pop off the bubble algae. You need to make sure you catch all of the bubbles though which is why I use the syphon.
