Controller Enclosure

    Hey Geek. The controller probably doesn't put out a tremendous amount of heat. Such a product is more apt to have all solid state, integrated circuitry components than anything with moving parts. I've never owned one, but that should be the case.

    Ventilation holes in your acrylic enclosure aren't a bad idea. A couple for air movement should do, keeping them on the opposite side from where water would enter.

    Yeah I figure it does not put out that much heat so Ill see If I can get by without drilling any holes. I post some pictures later of the whole thing mounted.

    I'm going to monitor it to see if it overheats, then ill decide on the fans.

    I just picked up a Neptune controller and am making a hinged case for mine. I'm going to drill a couple little 1/4" holes on the sides to keep air moving. Better to be safe than sorry. And being on the sides, it is less likely to get splashed with accidental water movement, my fish like to spit water sometimes.

    I bought a little digital thermometer and tested to see if it got hot inside the box. In my case the controller does not put much heat so I think I'm okay, but a couple holes for ventilation wont hurt.
