Hey folks I want to get a controller just not sure what one. If you could tell me what one you have and a few pros and cons I would appreciate it. Maybe a few features you enjoy.

Yeppers...go Apex. Digital Aquatics' cust care was definitely lacking, IME...I'm sorry we bought a RKE, which we hate so much we don't even use.

APEX is great. But keep in mind that it's a high start up cost. If you don't need remote monitoring there are plenty of other options that will do timer, temp, ph monitoring and controlling.

I am a big fan of Reef Angel, but it does require you to have at least a basic programming background if you want to get the full potential out of it. Otherwise, out of the box it will do temperature, pH, ATO (just need a pump), two wavemaker circuits, each customizable, daylights, actinics & refugium lighting.

I can go into more detail if it is something you are interested in. And I truly believe the customer support you receive can not be beat. My RA for my nano came with a bad temp sensor. I let the owner know, and he overnighted two probes without question. The two he sent work perfectly, so I got an extra one :)

That's great info and I agree about customer service, it goes a long way.

Do you know or have experience with remote monitoring and control with RA?

I have a DA RKL. The pros are it's cheap, the cons are it's cheap. Died twice in roughly a year. The second time killing thousands of dollars in corals. Absolute junk.

I have not used it remotely yet. You need a ~$90 adapter, and then just some programming. From what I have seen, you have excellent control, right from your smart phone. It is probably well worth it, I just have not had the need yet on my relatively basic systems.
