So I've been looking at different controllers recently and I keep getting drawn to the Digital Aquatics Reef Keeper Lite (plus), or level 3. It takes care of a lot of the essentials and comes with temp and pH probes, which seems to be a common extra cost on similar systems. Does anyone have any suggestions as far as similar systems preferably not costing any more. I have a birthday coming up and might have to splurge a little but this is a good idea what im looking at. also, where is the best place to buy. 3reef sponsors.....:)

Have you looked at the Reef Angel yet?

It comes with some really nice features and is just as cheap as the Jr.

I do not actually... There are several people on this board who do though. I did a lot of research on it, and it is a very good system. The only downfall of the system is the limit to 8 controllable electrical outlets. My lighting system uses more than this, let alone the rest of the system. If you are looking at the Jr.. then this is not an issue.

Yeah 8 outlets is not a problem. I was looking at the Digital Aquatics though, and i think the jr. is neptune. i would be curious how the interface for the DA works and if it can be used with a computer

I own the RKL level 3 and love it. It controls lights, pumps, fans, heaters, calcium reactor, moonlights and powerheads on the wavemaker function for now and probably more as I think of it.
