Anyone use or like the ReefKeeper Lite or the Aqua Controller Jr? I am looking to get one or the other.

I really want to run my Metal Halides/PC lights automatically and have the ability to have Temp, PH, Salinity Probes.

Are these units expandable if you buy the entry level models? I am pretty sure you can expand on the ReefKeeper.

    Thanks!

I have the ReefKeep Lite and I love it. It is expandable up to 4 modules and if you end up needing more then that, you can "upgrade" to the elite for 150 bux by sending in the lite(which I'm going to have to do soon". Mine is running both my lights and a heater right now. I just bought the stuff to set up the ATO another power strip and the moonlight module though so that maxed me out. I didn't get the probes yet for the salinity and ph yet, but definitely want to. Hope that helps.

I also have the RKL3 and it is excellent. I've had it since last May with no issues. I run all my lights (mh. Actinics), my chiller, heaters, topoff, etc. I also just added the net access and can monitor away from home.

I have no experince with other controllers but I recommend the reefkeepers controllers.

If I were to live in the US, I would have probably gotten a reefkeeper controller just because it has lots of options and is much less expensive than the one I have (Aquatronica). So, I would do my research on those and see which option you prefer...

The other side of the equation... I have the AC Jr. Also, very easy to use and love it. Certainly makes life much easier. Absolute no complaints.

Sounds like you won't go wrong either way.

    Yea...they both sound awesome!
I think I will go with the ReefKeeper Lite for now and then expand later on if need be....which always happens!

Can you tell me how you did your ATO...I really want to do that so bad!!!

I am going to run the MH and PC lights on it for now...thats 4 plugs right there. That pretty much does it for me then huh? I want to run the heaters on it too, and eventually the ATO...darn! Maybe I should go with the 3 or get the add - on 4 plug?!?!

Mine is VERY simple. 7 gallon camping jug from Walmart. Kent Float switch. 1/4" tube in between them. Gravity feed. That's it.

Apex lite is looking like it will fit lots of needs and budgets.

I run a Profilux III and love it. Yes it is one of the more expensive units but the basic model out of the box has a ton of features.
but the reef Keeper has many of the features and was not available when I was looking.

I have the RKL L3 and love the thing. It does all I need it to and more. If I ever want to upgrade DA gives you a credit towards their Elite unit and all the modules still work with either.
