I would simply take one of the Bio Ball compartments and make that a refugium simply set a container of some sort like 5.5 gal tank or rubber maid a cut off 5 gal bucket even then have the best of all of them have to offer .

I was thinking the same thing, but what about water level? i guess i would have to measure what the water level is normaly, and then go from there.
And what about overflow, you dont think some sand will come up?

Water level will not make a difference as the chamber you use for the fuge will be fed with its own supply the Bio area will have its supply and all the excess will just go to the open area for the pump to haul back up. the fuge will just get a slow flow the Bio Balls will need about 20% of the totally flow and then the rest will just get skimmed and sent back up.

    Ahhh i get it. :cheesy:

What about the water flow into the fuge, should i do something so it doesent splash all over the place, the flow is preaty strong, i have a little giant external pump.

    THANKS

I would have a tee and valve to feed the bio ball section then a tee and valve to feed the fuge section then the sump area would just roll wide open. the fuge section will just overflow then run into lower section of sump to be ran past the skimmer then sent back up to the tank. Then you'd have them all doing what they do best I have about that same wet dry mine is the 48" 4 compartment that I'll be using on the frag grow out systems I'll be setting up this winter here at home. Use it as a secured back up for the shop :) But I'll not be using a fuge on that just bio balls and a de-nitrater coil with good mechanical filtration for the young'ens :)
