Hey home, I've been there, real drag, search the internet for a heater that has a max Temp. of 80 degrees with a shut off if it over heats. I saw one a long time ago but don't know the name.

Finnex I think is 82 degrees but I could be wrong, I know if there is a power cycle on my digital one it resets itself to 81 I keep it set at 76 though I dont want it running unless it gets chilly, my tank usually stays between 77-79 on it's own

Sorry about the loss, thats a really crappy way to lose all your hard work because of a $30 part K+

That happened to me with an office tank. I wasn't aware that they turned off the heat on the weekends. Heater freaked out! :( SOrry bud! That's never happened with my Eheim heater though FWIW.
