    anyone help me i.d this lifeform? i noticed today i got this little thing that slowly comes out of my lr and opens up like a flower, and when i make any motion on that side of the tank even several feet from the tank it quickly retracts into the rock. what is this thing? how does it detect that im near the tank im not creeating a shadow or anything and when my fish go near it it does not react? wierd!

    Sounds like a featherduster worm of some sort... :) Pictures would most definitely help verify though!

    definitely need a picture to make sure its not a aptisia anenome. Those are pest and could take over your tank in no time.
