Hiya fellow 3reefers. I have a 33.6 gallon Mr. Aqua rimless that I have just completed cycling. Love the footprint on this tank. Its 24x18x18. Looks sharp

Planted with some prolifera and other macro algae. I just cant decide what I want to put in it. I already have my 75g reef so I wanted to do something really cool for this tank.

My wife wants seahorse, and or pipefish, and feeding would not be a problem because I already have a constant brine hatchery going.
But recently greg and renee have inspired me to do a pradator tank like a frogfish or leaf fish or waspfish or angler or something cool. I had a dwarf fuzzy lion a few years ago and dont think I will do another fuzzy. Kinda like fu manchu's; thats still an option.

I just wanted advice from people who have kept anything cool and rare before and what you suggested.

    Thanks guys

i have kept anglers in the past and love them. I have had 3 in the past and are fairly easy fish to care for imo. The problem with them is that they are not very active fish at all, and in fact may not move more than a few inches a day (LOL). They have a gigantic mouth and he has to be in the tank all by themself. They will in fact eat themself to death if given the opportunity to eat somethng to big or too much food for them. They do not ship very well, so I recommend either getting it from DiversDen or your LFS that has had the fish for at 3-4 weeks before you purchase them. Have them hold it for you, as the LFS in my area actually do not have problems with it.

Eating can be difficult. I have not had any problems with getting mine to eat frozen with the exception of this one. A year later he is still eating live and will never get him off it.

I like scorpionfish, leaf fish and waspfish seem like good nano residents.

it is just a plain painted angler. He was a red angler when I got him, however over time he has just changed to a yellow one. It isnt the type of the fish that is difficult, it is the particular fish itself.

I saw a wartskin on divers den today

I will pm you but I'll go ahead and post it here for everyone else to see. Its a VERY simple set up. I have two inverted 2 liter bottles that serve as hatcheries. They get harvested every 48 hours, so having two allows you to harvest daily. My system is identical to Melevs reef

I know i've had my eye on him for the last week but hes $150
I manage a LFS so I would like to wait untill my suppliers get one in so I can get it at wholesale. Exotic reef imports is where we get most of our saltwater fish from but they dont have any wortskins right now. (or didnt the last time I got a stock list )

    Temptation......
