Well I added 2 Yellowtail Damselfish, 3 Dwarf Blue Leg Hermits, 3 Turbo Snails.

All from Petco LFS, which they told me there's no guarantee on all living saltwater life once they get out the door!

Probably the last time I buy living things from them but maybe not.

Anyway, I got them home and put them all in to a 5Gal bucket with the LFS saltwater, after 2 mins I slowly added 3 cups of my SW from DT, after 2 mins I added 3 more cups, and after 2 more mins I put them all into my DT using a small net.

After 24 hours all is doing well however I have two Turbo Snails not coming out..

    More to come,
    Mike

looking good coolridernum1 (can I call you cool for short in future please?)

snails - Im not sure Im right on this but my thing is - if I try and lift them and they are adhered to the rock, I leave em alone, but if I can lift them off the rock, I assume the worst and remove them

    Snails

Yes it's ok to call me cool for short, the 2 snails are still not out... i picked them up and one was looking to be pooping or something coming from it,,not much...I'll look at posts to see if snails stay inside shells for a long long time.

there is never a livestock "waranty" on saltwater no matter where you go. i would find another lfs, i live and canada, so no petcos up here but i assume it is a big box store whihc sells sw, fw, dog food etc, never a good choice to get good produtcs with knowledgeable advice to boot.

    Thanks Cool
again this is just personal advice - but if they smell really bad ( and when I say really bad, I mean really, really bad, so dont put your nose right to them) then they are decaying and you should remove them

    Snails

Well it's the 1st one i've came across that does not have some kind of guarantee. I think my 2 snails were dead to start with but i'll try one more day then take them out i guess.

    Tip when buying snails

if the shop you buy them from lifts them easily and puts them in the bag or bowl - you dont want them - if they have to twist and turn them to get them away from the glass or the rock, those are the ones you do want

a dead snail has no commercial value, but that wont stop some people trying to make you pay for them - Not saying this is the case where you are, but believe me, if I did not watch every snail being picked for me here, I would have paid top dollar for vacant hermit crab homes

    Snails

All 3 snails was inside shells before LFS put them in bag. they just got the shipment in mins before i walked in the door. i guess i learned something.

Buy only good looking living things no mater what. If it looks dead or sick i don't want it.

    Added

    I just added 7 tiny corals "frags+rocks"

LFS didnt inclulde much water, so after duping bags in to bucket and slowly added a few cups of my water, then back them all up into a zip lock baggy and put in my tank for 20mins. After that i grabed the frags/rocks and put them in my water.

Set of 3 was on a tiny rock, other set of 4 was on a dead piece of coral.
I set the dead coral in the sand and the tiny rock i put in a safe place on one of my base rocks.

After 30 mins they all opened up after i dosed the tank with filter feeder food.

    More to come,
    Mike

    My tank

Well all seems well but 2 snails have not came out yet, but my frags are all double the size! Fish are swimming all over tank, the 1st few days they were only in one spot.

    Happy tank,
    Mike
