Just had a question about my copapods. I turned everything off including my powerheads and filter when I dropped them in. I dropped them near the rock with the most algae etc.

I waited a good 20 minutes and then turned everything back on. Well, I wake up this morning and I see little tiny flea looking things all over my glass moving about. I thought they stayed in the rock until they grew bigger. Are they supposed to come out and start clinging to my glass?

    Thanks.

Sounds like the teacher's out and the substitute's not doing their job! :)

Really I'm not sure you can really judge what is appropriate behavior. Pods of all types do come out on the glass in my experience. I'm not sure they've ever experienced glass before in their life or if they even distinguish between glass and rock, they probably just go where the food is so if there's something tasty on the glass that's probably where they'll be.

Yeah, I agree. If there's food on the glass, then they're going to go for it. I don't think they really care what the food is on as long as it's food.

Alright sounds good. I'm just confused how the little guys made it there without being flung around by my Koralias.

    Confused?!?! lol

The pods in one of my tanks are all over the glass. I actually thought that this is normal:cheesy:

With them non your class is it ok to clean off with the mag cleaner or scrap? This wouldn't kill my copapods off that I just dumped in would it? I mean there are a lot on the glass but they should survive the cleaning right?

Just a stupid joke about pods misbehaving, don't worry about it. :)

Also, don't worry about scraping them off the glass, even if you were to kill every single one on the glass (which will be pretty impossible) I'm sure there are hundreds if not thousands more on the rock and in the sand.

What kind of "pods" are you talking about? Sounds like a store bought bottle? Brand? Knowing that we can isolate which species and give you better and more accurate information :)
