I was looking at my lfs' website and i noticed that they sell a 4 oz bottle of Nutramar Tigrio Live Copepods. I plan to get a Melenurus *sp* warsse fish, and i was reading that warsse's eat them. I plan to get the Wrasse pretty much right after my tank is done cycling. There probably won't be enough copepod's for it to eat in the tank by then, so should i put this on my checklist to buy? I plan to go next week to get my lr, ls, and h20. If i need this should i get the copepod's while the tank is cycling, or after, like right before i add the fish?

I would cycle the tank first, then get the Copepods, wait a month and then get the Wrasse.

ok, also quick question about the getting the wrasse after a month, i have my puffer who is aggressive towards other fish and isint used to being with other fish. I was thinking about putting the puffer and the wrasse in at the same time so that there wouldn't be any territorial issues. With having to wait to put the wrasse in after a month, should i just go ahead and put my puffer in once my tanks cycled or just have him wait one more month until i get the wrasse

Oh....I didnt know about the Puffer, yeah........they are aggressive. If the Puffer gets introduced first, the Wrasse has no chance. If you really want the two fish to live together, I suggest that the Puffer goes in last.

ok, i think i'll do that, i don't mind him waiting another month after the tank gets cycled, i just wanted another fish in the tank with him i don't see the point of having just one fish in a 46. So i hope these two will play nice

only problem with a six line, is that it might not be able to hold its own against the puffer, he's really nasty to other fish. Lol this is a bit off topic, but my puffer was an impulse buy, i had him in freshwater at the time, since he was still a baby, i had him in a 10 gallon overstalked tank *i was a beginner at fish keeping at the time* one day, i came home from work, all of the fish in the tank were dead and floating on top with chunks bitten out of them, and then there was this cute little puffer swimming around all by himself. This was 2 years ago, and since then i've done a crazy amount of research on them and he's been in a 20 gallon to himself.

So now i have to choose his tank mate very carefully so that they will hopefully not have the same fate as the others. So sadly the six line wrasse may not do, their beautiful though like all wrasse, so i can't wait to try out the melenurus :D

triggerfish seem cool, but i think i want to at least attempt a reef, i know puffers aren't considered reef safe either but mainly because they pick at the lr and eat inverts but i think my guy will at least be ok with corals
