So I recently just got a scooter blenny and I have been teaching him to eat frozen food.
that works fine but I want him to be able to eat when he wants because he is always on the prowl. I have read several places they eat pods so I guess my question is
how would I go about setting up a pod colony in my tank?

just so you know I have a 14g biocube

    thanks in advance

a refugium or chaetomorpha for pods to hide and live in.. other then that there isn't much you can do in a 14 gallon tank.

You would need to set up a refugium since the pods wont be able to build or maintain a decent enough colony in your tank with the blenny constantly feeding off of them.

would starting it up in a different container then scooping some in every week or so work better?

Yes. I breed my own pods in a system made out of a 5 gallon bucket. I set up the whole system for about $25, minus the cost of the pods.
Check my tank thread. Right around post #135 is where I start on it. I go over where I got the pods, how I set up the bucket, etc. Its actually really easy.

that pod discussion needs to be copied out and stickied somewhere. There's so many uses for pods!

Marine snow and Phytofeast really helped me boost copepod population
