    Just as Drew3 pointed out, the populations take a while to stabilize... IME, after my first pod population boom, they reduced drastically on their own, then gradually worked their way back up in number... I believe that it goes through a few cycles before you will see a decent, steady population. I'd give it 6 months... that seems to be about the time that many things in a reef tank stabilize.
