I have had my 20G tank for about a month and a week, and all over the glass there are lots of copepods.

We are talking like 5-25 per square inch of glass

Also i tranfered some of the water i changed out of the 20 into my 55 (which is still cycling) and there are many pods in there now too

What im wondering is, is there such a thing as having too many 'Pods? or the more the merrier?

    Thanks

This population explosion is common in newer tanks. Give it a few weeks and the numbers will start dwindling rapidly. Their populations are self-limiting and they will settle into a balance primarily based on food availability.

Take advantage of this and sell extra to friends with mandarins, scooter blennies, 6-line wrasses, etc. Turn off the tank lights. After an hour, put a flashlight on one of the tank walls and leave it there for 15 minutes. Using a clean wet sponge, gently wipe that tank wall right where the flashlight is. Put the sponge in a baggie with some tank water. You'll have tons of pods bagged up now.

    Thanks for the swift reply

Unfortunatly, I dont have many friends who are into saltwater tanks.

And the 2 i do know have lots of pods themselves.

But so I am clear, they are Only beneficial? No negatives to having too many?
