I'm looking to buy my first coral tomorrow and need some help!!

I need a strong coral that can handle some beating! Something that will be tough and won't be easy to kill. So please, help me out and if you have some pictures or a site that will help guide me that would be great

Mushroom corals man, I've had some good luck w/ Tree Corals too. Soft corals are good corals but I recommend Mushrooms for the first. they spread like wildfire under the right conditions and are extremely hardy. They come in some pretty cool colors.

+1 shrooms. Be careful not to get to excited at the sale and come home with tons of corals. just fallow the advise on your previous thread and take it slow. Good luck.

The only reason I say to take it slow is because i didnt, i rushed things and i wish i had this board at the time i started and had others tell me to go slow. i wasted a lot of money and the lives of living creatures because i wanted it now. good luck.

Most palys are hard as hell to kill. GSP is another.

I would stay away from all LPS and Softies.

im gonna have to dissagree, softies are the easiest beginner corals such as leathers and kenya trees. true indeed there are some tree corals that are very difficult to keep but for the most part softies are very hardy. also lps are not as finicky. what you really want to stay away from is sps. they need very strong light and are very delicate but softies are probably your best bet which include shrooms

Some corals are alot more durable that you think. Zoa's & especially kenya tree's. You could probably forget to take them out the car for a couple days, toss them in the tank and they would grow. If you can sustain basic tank parameters you can handle these.
