Where and how does one place things such as candy cane coral, finger leather and yellow polyps? I have a 55g w/ a crushed coral base w/60lbs of live figi and tonga rock.
Can I place these corals directly in the crushed coral base with hopes of a bright future? What is the recommended placement, I heard some place them right on the rock? Do I just wedge them in so they don't drift away? I heard people glue corals is this safe, is there an alternate way? I have 3 stage lighting (halides/actinics/led) just wanted to know the best method so I can have them grow healthy!

The candy canes will grow at any level in 55 with halides. I have mine up high with PC lighting right now and they do great.

ive read that when placing corals remember that some have tenticlees that come out and sting other corals. I have hear of people using super glue to place them on rocks to stay. Just take into consideration that some GLUES are harmfull to the aquarium. I stuck a colony of zoa's inside a rock hole so the stem holds it up and my coral is sitting on the substrate away so it cannot sting anything.....

I actually like to use fiji rock for plugs. They stick to the rocks really well. my finger leather stays at the bottom cause he opens up so much (stings) and it gives him space, and my yellow polyps are about mid way under pc/ mh in a 30" deep tank. Its where they are happy and fit. Every coral has diff needs, even the same types of corals.

I recently bought a Leather and placing it is a chore in itself. This morning i topened up and now its closed again and moved to a new spot. So good luck with placement. I never thought it would be this hard to make a coral happy...
