They are quite the little opportunists, but they are about half bad, half good and half exasperating.

    Nice shots as always.

What salt are you currently using? I've heard similar accounts locally with people using Red Sea Coral Pro. Which is what I use, but I haven't seen anything like this, but I don't have any brittles.

    Thank you John.:)

    Thanks Mr.Bill.

    :)

I lost the last of my hermits when I treated for Red Bugs. Since that time I have developed a very healthy population of brittle stars, limpets, and stomatella. My theory is that hermits eat the them before they get a chance to spawn.

    Thank you Steve. ;D

I use Reef Crystals now. I have had similar events when treating with kalk paste so whether it is the change in pH, alk or Ca levels, a sudden swing I am not sure. Never to the extent of this evening though, probably a couple hundred brittle stars all spawning at one time.

Perhaps the lunar cycle plays a role as well....I have no idea what I'm talking about but it sounds good! When you have as many brittles as stomatella's, send me some :) !

Nice to see you too Cheryl!!!

I've finally managed to keep some SPS alive! I've come to understand that not all SPS will survive in one's tank. I Have a nice RP frag I picked up a couple months ago that was entirely green. It's encrusting beautifully and has changed color in accordance with my lighting. A green tort I picked up at that same time is also encrusting rapidly, as is a blue milleopora frag I glued to rock rubble. Tanks almost a year old and I'm happy with it thus far!!

Anything ever come of your chances at increasing tank size? Congrats on the new job BTW, I'm jealous.I'm sure you'll be successful !!

Excellent, that is great news on the sps.

As far as tank size, now no one laugh, I have only been looking under pets for aquariums on craigslist. Low and behold, if you look under for sale in the general category, bamm you get many more tanks!

Jobs is good, working with dogs and working like a dog, can not complain yet. :)
