I guess you should be called Queen of the SPS!!! Damn unreal.

So I read through alot but then got caught up in just flipping through the pages looking at the incredible pictures.

    I was wondering if you have;

    1) a list of all the equipment you have, tank, lights etc..
    2) what you feed your corals and schedules (brand names etc)
    3) what do you dose and schedules (brand names etc..)
    4) any other pertinent info you think is important

Not trying to chew up your time but you have what I want and where better to get the info than from someone who does such a great job. Also I think it can benefit many many people to have that kind of info.

If you have already listed all that I will go back through this but basically got to page 60 then jumped 10 pages at a time.

oh ya and do you have a recent full tank shot?

I do not have a FTS for this month, sorry I am never home when the lights are on lately. Thank you for the kind words.

I run a very low tech system now, nothing fancy.

Lighting Radium 20k, 150 watts DE. Next month I will be changing back to a Phoenix bulb. No real reason other than I just like to mix it up. I change the bulb every 6 months.

Korailla #4 and #2 in the tank, a lot of flow.

Dose Kent Nano Marine Parts A/B daily with magnesium 2 twice a week. Chemipure elite for carbon.

Feed Rob's Foods 2 to 3 times a week. The tank has 3 snails, no crabs or hermits ( they died when I treated for Red bugs ). One old YWG and one older B/W misbar clown.

Water changes 10% bi-monthly with Reef Crystals.

Basically the less I mess with it, the more consistent my dosing and wc, the better it does. Most pertinent would be, try not to keep soft corals with stony corals in a nano. Do not starve your corals, but I highly encourage the use of a skimmer ( I do not run one currently). Do not give up on ugly frags or freebies.

    :)

    LOL :p

    Hi Corailline...

Dumb noob question. Why no softies with SPS in a nano?

    Thanks!

    1) Softies can release toxins that are bad for SPS. You can run carbon, but that does not always fix the problem.
    2) Light requirements and flow differ greatly from SPS corals to softies.
    3) Softies and LPS like dirtier water, while SPS like cleaner water.
Im sure that is not a 'Corailline quality answer' , but hopefully you get the point. 8)

Great PE and the brittle spawning is a pretty cool catch. Any guess as to how many you might actually have in there? I see they are pretty mature.

    +1

Years ago when I was managing Planet Reef, I was on the phone with a supplier asking if I knew anyone who was interested in browned out SPS COLONIES (i.e. not frags). When I got the price, I said, "I want every single one of them". My partners thought I was insane for putting down a couple grand on brown colonies.

I put them in a 400 gallon tank with good skimming and good lighting and I sold them to my customers very inexpensively. I told them I had no idea what color they would end up (and it may be brown) and I sold 25% of them that way. Fast forward 3 weeks and the color was already coming back on many. I increased the price a little but they were still inexpensive for the size (due to the fact that I got them so cheap). Another couple of weeks later, many were really colored up well so I raised the prices again and sold even more. In fact, I sold every colony.

Sometimes, you don't know what a coral is going to look like for a couple of months. Patience is key with SPS.
