    When is the next Dollar Per Gallon sale? You've proven that you can run a skimmerless SPS system. Pick up a 40g breeder for 40 bucks. That would give you plenty of growth room.

    Duncans great corals, lets you know if you have water chemistry issues, closed and not expended, something is a miss. All corals do that to some degree that the Duncan seems to always be the first to show any signs of stress.

    Thanks Curt,

    Breeder tanks are very attractive to me, I like depth and the scaping options. They also look bigger than the actual size to me. I will check out petsmart and see when they are doing it again.

    LOL.

    You guys are great, seriously nice people. Three members have let me know it's on again (dollar per gallon sale). I am going to go check it out tomorrow. Thanks for the support and heads up.

    Now to go check out SkyFires thread. :)

    Nice shots, Cheryl. It's been some time since I saw your thread last. How long have you been running skimmer-less?

    Thanks Seano:)

    Roughly 1 year and 3 or 4 months. If I ever get back into fish I will probably get a skimmer again, but with the water changes I do and the lack of fish and inverts that need feeding (2 fish, one larger bristle worm, one certh, one asteria and a ton of stometellae and brittle stars), really no significant bio-load.

    :)

    Oh, so I had seen it before. :) Didn't realise you were always running skimmer-less (while on 3reef). And for some reason...I never noticed you didn't have any fish. haha Obviously that is working for you. The tank looks great. Keep up the good work.

    I have a decent bio load (4 fish ~ 11-12" worth of fish) on my nano (29g)and it's been skimerless since birth and still is.
    So it can be done, as we are :)

    May I ask what other means of filtration you are running? Do you have a refugium? Or are you just doing water changes?

    HOT Magnum filter for carbon and in tank macro (calurpa sp?) came in on something, but the lawnmower blenny kept it trimmed nice till it died, so we need to replace it. We've also have started keeping it limited to one rock so it doesn't get all over the tank.

    Water changes??????? ::) ::) ::) LOL
