Two months growth for both the no name mille and the Cali tort. I love blue colors and the blue and purple of the Cali tort is nice.

Wow. That's really cool. Your corals really thrive.

Just curious, but do you take any of the close-up shots with a flash, or is the light that bright? The reason I ask, is that in the close-ups, the algae is a very bright green, which usually shows up more with a flash. Makes the background look much more green than it actually is.

Thank you, I like growth shots because watching acropora really is like waiting for a pot to boil.

Thank, you. I love that shot, because it reminds of the cover to "The Reef Aquarium Volumn II".

I really wish the true blue and green could be seen.

Yes I do use a flash for many shots. The algae you see is because I removed some rock work to drill plugs or change out pieces that have pest growing on them. The rock still has not had a chance to regrow the purple coralline. And I have a good deal of the film algae because the snails, limpets and stomatellia love to eat it. Very small amount of bubble algae but a ton of film algae. Perhaps no skimmer plays a part in that as well.

lol, not saying that algae is bad, it just shows up more with a flash. A little algae is good. You can get more detail if you lower the ISO as low as it will go, and don't use a flash. ;D

Oh yeah not a bad thing at all. Unfortunately the camera is such that I have only high ISO and auto ISO, I wish I had a camera that had the ability to leave the lens open longer, but no go. And it is probably a good thing, as I would take so many pictures. I love macro images.
