Again, I am sorry to read this.

And that is a lot of GSP, and an interesting theory with it. Would it be at all possible to rip some out?

You bother because you have one of the most amazing tanks here, are one of the most experienced people here with a wealth of knowledge, and have a clear passion for the hobby. I feel horrible for your female clown:cry:, dont know where you will go from here, but I'm sure over time you'll figure it out.

Well evolved ,I tried the peel away method about 3 months ago, with a sharp razor blade, and the GSP ended up turning into a slimy mess, I am pretty sure what ever liquids it was ozzing making all slimy can not be good for the rest of the corals. So I stopped. What I did clean away has already grown back significantly.

My only thought now is to, take the 10 gallon I have sitting around, put all rocks and corals in that. Use the lighting fixture lid from the JBJ, it's detachable. And just clean and scape with the JBJ empty, rinse until the cows come home. Let the tank sit dry for a day or two. I really have no other option.

I am so kicking myself for gluing that stupid piece on there. In a soft tank it would have been cool, in sps a huge nightmare.!!!!!!!!

Sorry to hear of the loss and the difficulties. I think your plan is the most sound and effective means of achieving your goal. Best of luck Cheryl. Makes me re-think having my GSP in the tank.

    Thanks John,

Just have to get the guts up. Maybe place some of my frags in others tanks in case things go south. Work on the chiller while the tank is down. All power heads could use a good cleaning as well.

Maybe this weekend or next weeks sometime. Yeah I know I am talking about it for a couple months now, but I see no alternative at this point.

    Oh go BB.

And I would for sure get rid of the GSP. This keeping it isolated is for the birds. IMO once it takes hold it's like blue star polyps, much more trouble than it's worth. I am just not into having to trim a coral back every month of so.

Thanks all I feel more motivated than sad now. ;D

    Awww geeeze,not the male too.Cheryl i'm so sorry.

I knew you had gsp in there but never realised that much, your right though,in a softy tank I would find that very cool, but in your tank,I can understand your fustration. There is no doubt in my mind you get it resolved and keep taking your tank in directions that no other reefer has before.:)

Thanks grinder, but actually it was the male that jumped. I thought it was the female initially, because of the way the one was acting, no attitude.

But now after some time, I noticed it had to be male that jumped. There were pretty close in size. Now the female is eating very little. I find it very strange that clown fish can actually act depressed. I am not projecting either, she sits in the back of the rocks. No rushing out to get food. I think the goby has been giving her a hard time as well.
