Yahh thats exactly what I was reading about! Funny you've posted a thread. 2,000 years old.. I knew it was a few thousand haha. Crazy how slow that stuff grows. I'm sure there's just tons of coral and stuff we still have no clue about.

Ok last ones for the day I swear. I was going back and looking.

Langston's Seafoam and that sickly Millepora. Both in Dec and now at the end of May.

One of the reasons I love 3reef, I can keep records of my corals progress.

Very nice Cheryl. Nice to see the changes so you can recognize how much growth there has been.

    Thanks John,

Both Dec images were before treatment for Red Bugs, so that probably contribute a lot to looking sickly prior and growth afterwards.

So long story short, I twisted my back while lifting tank stuff, so no transfer over yet. Had to frag some corals like the Cali tort, and Formosa as a last resort.

The Formosa got stung by the Pocillopora, and I have no idea what is up with the Cali. Good PE on both. The bases are white because I used super glue gel to stop the STN as much as possible.

On other fronts, my Orange/Red Montipora is growing well. And an image of Mesenterial filments by the Langston Seafoam.

    This to this. :-/

Beautiful shot Cheryl, hope your STN corals have stabilized or will soon. Take care of your self and be careful with your back.

    Hey Cheryl

hope the fragging works out for you

keep focusing on the positives - the corals that are doing well
don't agonise to much about the minority that does not work out

because I do not believe there is a single reef keeper in the hobby for which
there are not a minority of corals that do not work out

it can be disheartening when a coral goes down hill
I have had 3 cases in 9 months of STN affecting individual mini colonies or frags
in 2 cases fragging above the STN and inserting frags into putty, worked out
in the other case , sadly I lost the mother colony and the 2 frags I had tried to save

my honest opinion is that occasionally its a lottery
so do not be to down on yourself when the numbers come out all wrong for you

    Steve

Grrrr. That's frustrating when that happens. I had a very nice Alveopora colony that was growing great, then suddenly started melting from the base. If your STN were pest related, maybe a Dragonface Pipefish would take care of it??? [IMG]

Your SPS get really good PE, do you feed them anything like phyto?

    Hope your back feels better.
