LEDs are fun toys... Automating a sunrise/sunset/storm senario via a controller and some programing might be a project for the technologist.

My father is color-blind, so I understand that issue. He's seen my tank a handful of times, and while he finds the amount of stuff in it impressive and the work/process involved in maintain/growing it all, it's just a lot of the same "stuff" in there to him, sans vivid contrasting color.

Well the BF loves all things electronic, he likes to sauder and wire things.
So in my devious ways, which are totally innocent I have been showing him stuff at Radio shack and the forums.

I am pretty sure down the road not to far, we will do the DIY LED, and with him doing it mainly, it will be to perfection.

Got to say though, your tank and one or two others and Exotics new LEDs have kind of swayed to the dark side. 8)

Wow. That's all I can say about this thread. I just browsed through the entire thing, all 97 pages of it, and it took me over 2.5 hours... to browse. Good thing it's late and the kiddie was asleep so I could soak some of your knowledge in. Or at least try. You have a beautiful tank.

Just want to say thanks for your input on a couple of issues I'd had or things I'd been asked to ask about. I'll have to get with you about what exactly it is you use or do or i don't even know what and just hope that you grace me with some information. Let me know if you mind me beating you in the head with questions about how you get such growth, color and just everything you do... :hammer: I'm new to the coral aspect of this hobby.

Thanks again for your help, past and future, and also for the amazing pictures you've shared.

Ok this is that weird Millepora, notice the strange curved growth pattern. I do not like it. Coral has not been moved, no changes. I do not understand what is up with it, other than the light sitting directly on the top is causing it to grow that way?

I liked this image of Pocillopora cool sweeper tentacles.

I think Slimmers must have the most concentrated polyps and the longest.

Great looking shots and corals as always Cheryl.

I think the growth may have to do with your flow. If it flows one direction most of the time the corals seems to go with the flow as it were.

    Thanks John,

Yup now I feel like an idiot. You would think that would have occurred to me, duh. The branches on the other side are straight. I am not going to mess with the flow, just leave it be and see what happens.

My pink BN has little growth on the front side but great growth elsewhere. My purple Stylo is leaning with flow also.
