coral and polyp questions

    hi there i was wondering as of right now im starting off with a regular florecent light.. can i put any type of coral or mushroom or polpy with out the high intese light or will i need one....

    I personally can't think of ANY coral that will survive with only 1 fluorescent light. Except maybe a sun coral, of course :) But sun corals are not easy. Take it from me.

    I agree. You need high output lighting in order to keep photosynthetic corals.

    How much light are we talking here. I have kept a leather and some polyps under NO lighting. How big is the tank and much light is on top?
