So there are two things about this picture I'm not sure about. One idk what is in the mouth of the coral. 2nd the little polyp looking sticks on the lr, I'm not sure what they are. I have had a feather duster before. So not quite sure.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Mesenterial filaments, when seen in LPS might be a sign of stress.

In SPS they can be a feeding or defensive mechanism.

    Please post parameters.

I also see possible Vermetid Snails.

    Welcome to 3reef.

I don't over feed thats for sure. I work at petco and I've been taught how to feed without over feeding. The tank is probably almost a year old. If anything I might under feed a little. Will they die off eventually?

Mine always have. If worse comes to worse and they are irritating nearby corals you can 1: Cover with superglue gel or 2: Cover with underwater epoxy.

I re-booted my tank in Nov 2012, now I am just starting to see the Vermetids die off. I feed very little but I have 2 fish.

    Hope that helps.

I read some resource that said vermetids are reef safe and actually useful for the tank. Do they cause any problem besides being somewhat ugly?
