Coral banded shrimp red antennae?

    I've had this guy for almost 3 years now and have never seen this before.. His antennae are turning red?!? It's never happened before. Usually he turns brownish before he molts then comes out all shiny but I'm pretty sure it's not that.

    I may be wrong here, but when they are about to molt their old skeleton begins growing algae on it. it may be just a red algae growth instead of brown. But i'm not 100% on that ;p

    That may very well be the case. When i looked close the first thing that came to mind was that there was some kind of red algae growing on it. If this is the case this is strange, for me anyways. This guy has probably molted 30 times if not more and every time he gets very brown and dirty looking, but never red. I never thought about the brown being a form of algae. So yes, maybe a different kind this time? Weird..
