Hey guys, I picked up a 2-3 inch ? coral angel beauty.
I have 29 gallon biocube, and right now water paramaster is at

    0nitrite
    0nitrate
    0amonia
    8.3 ph

And I have not tested others yet, and currently I have alot of hair algae in the tank. I dont have any other fish besides this coral beauty at this current moment.
Currently he is swimming fine, but mostly hangs out in the rocks, but comes out every 2-3minute then goes back in like 10 seconds ish of being out.

Anyway my main question is, I really want to do a good job in this angel fish, and is my first ever angel fish. Do you guys have any good tip to keep this wonderful Coral beauty healthy and happy?

Help will be appreciated it, thanks 3reef.

This fish is actually not difficult to keep. Just keep your good water parameters. I feed mine with dried seaweed on an algae clip. "Omega One Super Veggie Green Seaweed" About a 1" x 2" piece every-other day. I also feed with pellet food. "New Life Spectrum - marine Fish formula" I feed the pellets twice a day, enough for the fish to eat in a few minutes.

The fish is mainly just shy/curious, due to the new environment.
Also, for the hair algae you can use a toothbrush to remove it. The CB may actually get some of it too.

Since I have two tangs as well, I always feed seeweed with a clip. Just vary the diet and he will be fine.

Excellent advice. I have kept 2 coral beauties (1 in a FO system and 1 in a nano reef), great fish. I agree. Feed the angel seaweed and a variety of different brine/mysis shrimp. He will be ok. It's natural for fish to swim in and out of the rocks in the tank. And if he's new, it might take a week or two before he becomes adjusted with the tank/seeing a big animal staring at him all the time until he learns that you like feeding him and he'll enjoy that and come out more often ;). Good luck and don't be worried, its a great, colorful and easy fish to take care of

How does this..sea weed clip? thing work? Is that like a clip on or something?
I never had angel fish so I am not sure, does it eat regular fish flake food that I fed my old clowns with? also how much does this sea weed clip cost?
How often should I feed it?

Sorry for so much questions lol

The clip is only $5 or so. I put in a piece of seaweed that is 3" by 4" every couple days for my yellow tang and CB.

Just wondering...if the CB is the first fish, what did you use to cycle the tank?

no, coral beauty is not the first fish I had. I started with, 2 chromis when I start back in 09 of July. Coral beauty is just the first "angel" fish I had

honestly you probably don't have to worry about nori or a clip. for a few bucks you can just pick up Ocean Nutrition either Formula One or Two. it's got everything a growing beauty needs. i have a CB, 6line wrasse and two clowns and i feed formula one flakes twice a week and mysis once. everyone has been happy and fat for 1 1/2 years
