i purchased a CB 3 weeks ago and he/she is currently in qt. it won't eat garlic pellets or mysis shrimp but would rather nibble on lr, crushed coral bed and glass. it seems active & healthy. is it safe to assume it'll be ok when i transfer to my display tank.

Coral Beautys like to nibble on rocks all day. Mine don't eat a lot of food that I put in the tank unless it is angel food cubes soaked in garlic. I have some live green plants that I have growing on a few rocks that they LOVE to nibble on.

OH and your coral beauty is probably a female. They are all born female, then when they are in a group the dominant female will turn male, then the next dominant one will be the alpha female.

My coral beauty wouldn't touch flakes, but goes nuts over frozen Rod's Food.

Be careful. My CB likes algae strips (Nori), flake food and CORALS (specifically, mushroom leathers and Zoas).
I really dig this kind of info. Thanks!

No problem. I have to researched the heck out of the Coral Beauty after I got one. I do this with everything I decide to get for my tank. I started to do this after I purchased my stupid dotty back.. That fish has become the pain in my tush

Thanks folks. I am a bit concerned over the coral munching. I have a colt coral, mushroom and polyps. Will one 2 inch coral beauty do much damage?

Oh yes. I had a zoa rock cleared in no time. The mushroom leather nibbled on real good. I amped up the feeding with Nori and that has mellowed her out some. But my big rock is looking a little bare on one end. Like she is taking one at a time per three or four days. Just a snack. A little snack. He won't notice......
