When my wrasse wasn't eating, I finally got him eating again with bloodworms. I soaked, and I mean soaked, them in garlic extract and added a bit of water. I left the powerheads on and squirted them very enthusiastically into the water to trip his hunting drive. After doing this for several days, he finally started eating them. After several days I progressed to brine with spirulina (and lots of garlic) and now he's eating mysis again.

Thanks Kcbrad, that's a good idea too. I've already been attaching nori to rocks in the tank w/ rubber bands but he hasn't eaten that yet. I've actually been surprised at these answers, I was expecting the normal soak it in garlic or try live food. I'm impressed by the 3reef community again. I'll let you guys know how things go.

Just don't give up!! I know how frustrating it is. It was heartbreaking and so frustrating watching my wrasse starve. He didn't eat for a week or so. Now he's a PIG again!! So don't give up hope and just keep trying.

Hows the little guy doing today? I see the nori isnt working. When I did have a CB back in the day... he wouldnt eat nori till he saw a tang doing it after the tang was introduced.

Yea, that's what I plan on doing. Again, he is eating stuff in the tank so that's good, I just want to make sure he stays healthy.

I'm hoping that he continually sees the other fish pig out on the nori and food I put in, so hopefully he'll eventually learn to eat the food. Tomorrow I'm going to try to feed some fresh squid, so I'll see how that goes. I've had to go back to my normal feeding routine, 1 day frozen, 1 day nori b/c I'm getting algae growing again and my sand is growing cyno faster then usualy.

My flame angel took about a week before it started accepting Ocean Nutrition spirulina flakes. We even tried nori on the rock and it was avoided rather than overlooked by the angel. It's was our assumption that being from the wild, the angel had no idea what flakes were and nori was just as unnatural a food for it. When it gets hungry enough, hopefully it will start going after whatever is in the tank.
