One of my LFS's has a couple Coral's and Flame angels. The Flame's look sweet with the bright orange, but the Coral's also have some striking colors with the purple and blue. I can't decide wich one to get! My tank is a FOLWR so no coral nipping to worry about. The angel will be in a 55g lightly stocked with 1 Firefish, 3 green Chromis, and 1 Yellow Coris wrasse.

    Price-
The Coral bueaty is on sale for $29.99 and the Flame Angel is 45.00. Does that sound reasonable?

Price sounds about right. I actually paid a little more for my coral beauty, but she wasnt on sale....LOL!

My choice - obviously - the coral beauty!

I couldn't decide either, so I'm getting both.

LOL! I wanted both also, but my very trusted LFS said it could be an "iffy" situation. Offered to put 2 together in one of his tanks to see if they would fight, but ultimately decided against it.

I would personally go with the flame. I think they look better. Plus, you seem to see a little less of them in tanks than the CB's. I like to be different ;)

From what i've been reading on wet web they hint towards a 6' tank being the minimum to attempt this in, and my rockwork is setup with a ton of ins and outs for fish to cruise around in. I think my chances are pretty good that it will work, but there's always the notion of them fighting non stop or somehow getting a taste for my softies and LPS's.

Kinda makes the hobby a bit more interesting playing with uncertainties.

ive got both in my 90. 1st night was brutal , so killed the lights early and theyve played nicely together ever since. but if i was to have to choose between the 2 , id go flame all the way. great splash of color . and those prices seem right in line. i paid i think 40 for my coral and 65 for the flame , but thats up here in canada eh. lol.

This one is strictly price for me. I love the Flame coloration but I love the Beautys' also. I came to believe the Beauty was a touch more hearty than the Flame. I have kept Beautys for more than 15 years and they are very hearty with a life span on average for me of about 5 years. I just hate spending a lot and a fish doesn't make it. Maybe I got psyched by trying 3 different Clown Triggers (my wife loves them) and for some reason they all died within 2 weeks. So.......about $200.00 later..........
