Went to my favorite place yesterday, and came home with some new fish and two new coral. One weighed easily over 30lbs, large piece of live rock covered with pink monitpora. Don't try to place something this big in your 30" deep tank by yourself. Long story short, while moving things around to make room for the new additions, my galaxia fell face down right onto one of my torch corals. It was NOT happy. The lights aren't on yet today, so I'm hoping that it will recover. The good news is that everything else looked really good after I moved things around. I'll take some pics today and post when everything wakes up.

oh wow.....i definitely want to see some pics of your new treasure and the aftermath of your disaster....i have my fingers crossed that it will not be as much of an aftermath as initially thought.

I am very intrigued about the 30lb rock though - it must have been something special for you to buy it and bring it on home.

    keep us posted!

Isn't galaxia a hard coral even though it looks soft? If so, ouch. Well, I hope every thing returns back to normal for you.

Hope the galaxia survives, but I'm more curious to see a pic of this 30lb rock.

Hope all goes well, should be little problem if the contact time was minimal. I'm on the edge of my seat with the massive pink monti rock.

Galaxea? I think he's more worried about the torch coral it landed on. Im sure the galaxea left behind a few sweepers.

Got busy with other things yesterday and didn't get a chance to take pics. I think I was calculating the weight of the water and rock in the bag when I came up with the 30 lb. figure. I lift weights regularly, so I know what 30 lbs. feels like, but the rock is probably more like half of that. Still a pretty big rock.

And yes, I'm much more worried about the torch. The galaxia is fine and happy in it's new perch with increased water flow. The torch is doing better than I at first thought, but still is only half extended and has several tentacles in the center that are retracted.

I did shoot a quick video of the tank last night at feeding time. You can view it at MobileMe. At the end of the video is the pink rock. There is also a video of some shots from my trip to Maui along with a song from my CD project. I'm trying to upload the feeding time video to my photo gallery here, but I think the file is too large.

I'll take some pics this afternoon and post.

OK, here are a few pics of the progress I've made and of the big pink coral.

There is still another coral that hasn't opened up after moving around a bit that I would like to get a pic of, but maybe in an hour or two.

As you can see, the galaxia is doing fine. The torch is looking better today. Not as extended as usual, but much more so that yesterday.
