About to place an order from 3reef sponsor Aquacave... to buy 3reef sponsor Eshopps ATO Float Valve....

While I am there, to make shipping costs more efficient, I figure I'll buy some Coral Food.... what do you recommend??

I have Acans, Ricordeas, Frogspawn, Duncans, Sun Coral Polyps.

    Thanks
    Mark

Do you mean frozen? I feed all my corals chopped squid and they grow like crazy.

No, I was referring to dry since it is being shipping. I will go buy some chopped squid local though. I also do frozen mysis shrimp occassionally.

I found that while my corals would gobble mysis up, they never really grew much. I feed each head once a week and I constantly have new heads popping up of all my corals that I feed squid to.

Can't be of any help for dry foods. Sorry.

I buy the cubes of it. They are small pieces and are easy to feed. You could go to an asain market and easily find squid. A bait shop, saltwater bait shop, would have it and would be cheaper than buying it in cube form. You can also buy it in flat packs from your LFS.

I have a contrary opinion to this. I fed my pearl bubble mysis, and it's now double the size it was 6 months ago.

In 6 months. I would have new heads popping every few months when I fed mysis. Now that I am feeding squid new heads pop up every few days on acans, and new heads on my torch, frogspawn, duncans, and candycanes every week. It takes longer to feed enough mysis to equal the same amount of squid you give your corals. It is easier, fast, and they just get more from it.

    Have you tried squid?
