Hey there everyone, I have had my 16g bf for about 3 months now, I currently have 2 clown fish and a 7 line wressa. I also have 2 mushrooms, one polylp and another one but I cannot think of the name right now... I was just wondering when do corals usually start spreading or growing??

guess it depends alot on the light and water quality...but then again maybe just whenver they feel comfortable enuff to split...

Unfortunately their isn't no clear cut answer to that question. Many corals will only do so at certain times during the course of the year based on lunar cycles. Some will during warmer water temperatures, after they reach sexual maturity, ideal water parameters, and reduced stress.
Often times it depends on whether they are broadcast spawners(sexual reproduction) or partake in one of the many asexual reproductive methods such as fission.

It all depends on the types of corals you have.. even between the same type..
Take mushrooms, Some grow faster then others.. How and what are they beening fed ..
Lighting has alot to do with it. Even where they are placed in the tank..
Just because "WE" like then in a place in our tanks, doesn't mean " they " like it..
That has alot to do with how they grow.. I have some mushrooms that are around 6 months old.. Were the size of a quarter, now are 5 inches across. And some I got at the same time, that are the same size as when I got them..
Good things in a tank is slow.. Only bad things are fast..

    Good Luck, Larry

Yep, pretty much no right or wrong answer. I can tell you that on average, my polyps spread a lot faster than my mushrooms. But nearly all of my corals seem to go in spurts. There will be nothing, then the colony will have seemingly doubled in a short amount of time. Never found the rhyme or reason behind it, it just seems to kind of happen that way.
