Coral growth: Slow & steady or in spurts?

    Does your coral, or coral in general, grow slow and steady or does it grow in spurts? Thanks.

    Depending on the coral but in most cases coral grows slowly

    spurts for me. sometimes slow and steady but mostly spurts...

    Getting the tank dialed in should provide consistent growth. Spurts IMO are just brief periods of when the tank's water chemistry is dialed in. This concept of achieving the ideal parameters based on your tanks utilization and maintaining them consistently is the hard part.

    SPS = System Parameter Stability. Like Coralline said with that you should have consistent growth. Some corals grow faster than others but stability is the key.

    Thanks guys. I seem to find noticeable growth every few weeks, so it led me to believe that I was having growth spurts.
