I can't remember exactly what this coral is called but I think it is a devil's hand, either way it has been in my tank since Tuesday night and has yet to open up during the day?

I have a 14G Nano cube but have added LED lighting to it so I don't think light is the problem

    Any ideas? is this normal?

    Thanks
    Matt

Yes it is normal. Leathers can stay closed for several days. Give it 1 week and see if it opens.

Is it sliming, if it is that is a good sign? I wouldn't worry yet. Sometimes they take a few days to open. I have a devil's hand and sometimes they can be a little touchy.

Just to let you know, most people here are going to want you to list your water parameters to help them answer your question.

Temp, salinity, Ph, Kh, nitrites, nitrates, ammonia, phosphates, calcium, and sometimes more.

    Good luck,

    Jim

For the life of me I can not remember the name, so I will bump it, I am pretty sure Curt (Inwall) will know.

    Ctenophores.

Harmless hitch-hikers often found on leather corals.

Yes they do no harm. Same family as jelly fish, odd I know. Google " toadstool with ctenophoreas" or leather.

Leather typically take along time to acclimate. You can try increasing flow but they usually come around on their own.
