Bought a Finger Leather Coral about a month or so ago.
The 'base trunk' died, and the coral looks like its splitting into 3 pieces...

Should I 'frag' it or do anything special... or just let it be?

Yesterday, I moved it to another position, but I just found out its placed next to some small ball anemone there, so I think I'm going to move it elsewhere...

Frag it or leave it be?

Have you thought about why the base died? Are the leather's polyps extending? What are your water params, flow and lighting? What other livestock/coral do you have? A FTS would be nice also to aid in answering any questions but if the leather's polyps are extending well and colouring up ok when the lights are on then I wouldn't do anything. JMHO;)

    Yeah I know why.

That coral was doing fine until I did a water change with unconditioned tap water...dough... coral went limp for a week.. base trunk shriveled... and now three weeks later the three 'nodes' are 'standing' on their own and 'pulling' apart it seems into smaller units.

I personally havn't been seeing the polyps extend like on my other mushroom leather coral, but the finger is maintaining a healthy green 'glow' and as its doing much better in the last two weeks, I don't think feeding is the issue.
