A bought this coral a week ago and it looks like its top layer of skin is pealing off. All the other corals in the tank look fine.

Sorry about the crapy pic but it's all I got for now. He opens up nice when the lights are on , I just turned on the lights to get a good pic so thats why hes closed up. The temp in the tank is getting to 83.5 when the MH turn off, could this be a cause?
    My parms are
    temp-80
    SG 1.026
    ph 8.3
    nitrates-0
    nitrites-0
    ammonia-0
    phosphates-0
    calcium-380
    alk-2.5
My questions are is this normal, good, bad? How do I fix it if there is a problem? Ect?
    TIA

What kind of flow does it get? My tank temp is usually 82-84.

Your leather needs a bath. Blow off all of that "shed" with a powerhead.

They cover themselves with a protective slime and unless they are in good flow that slime can't come off and they don't do so well when it stays on.

It is shedding, a normal activity for leathers. As others have mentioned, it needs moderate flow, since you say it has it, leave it alone. It is adjusting to it's new environment. In the future, when purchasing a Coral, take a good 5-10 min. in the LFS and observe all that you can as far as the intensity of the flow it's in, light intensity etc.
