It is really hard to tell from that photo, I have both a finger leather and a colt.. does it expand when lights are on? Does it stay that same size in photo all day? A finger leather and a colt have quite a different texture.. can you post another photo?

I would think if that is a colt coral and your lights were on when you took that photo, its not very happy?

I would say some form of sinularia, what do the polyps look like? Does it ever retract the polyps and have like a slimey/waxy covering to it?
Unfortunately the only way to tell most softies for sure is to dissect them...

    Happy reefing!

    thanks everyone.

i recon by the other pics(thanks all) i feel its a leather coral. i have got some more pics which may help you pros to decide. the polyps are like small dots. they are brownish in colour. i cant really see any fans/filters on the polyps themselves.
it"s not that slimy(nothing out of the ordinary), and does expand when the lights come on. i got to admit when i took the main pictures i had just moved the tank around and as observed it wasn"t that happy. ive taken this one today(after moving it to substrate level where its seems happier) and its definetly back to its old self. either that or it was having a growth spurt!!!! forgot to say also, can they get too much light??? many thanks for all the help:)
